RCP provided a range of project management services to the Eden Park Redevelopment Board assisting with resource and building consents, as well as design, construction and contract management.
The stadium was designed to accommodate 60,000 spectators during Rugby World Cup 2011, and 50,000 in legacy mode. The project included:
- Demolition works of the South, South West, East and Panasonic Stands.
- New South stand.
- New Eastern stand with internal concourse.
- Western Concourse linking the south west and north west plazas.
- Car parking, entry plazas and site landscaping.
- Site Infrastructure.
- Corporate boxes.
- Members lounges.
This was a fast track project, with operational challenges, which was required to be completed within a defined budget. RCP’s project and programme management contributed to the successful co-ordination of the consultant teams and was integral in delivering the stadium facilities on time and on budget, as well as providing sufficient lead in time for operational testing.
