RCP Auckland are pleased to announce that Practical Completion was achieved on the NZ$40 million Sky City Casino Main Gaming Floor Refurbishment at the end of February 2008. The 16 month project, which was managed by Nick Beale, Bruce McDonald and Mark Pearson, involved 13 short stages, covering the entire gaming floor and an additional new structure and area of gaming expansion over the bus bay.

The project was set against a very tight programme, and required RCP to minimise disruption to Sky City Casino (which runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). As the Casino is the heart of the Sky City operations, disruption during the works presented serious and significant financial risks to Sky City. Along with the technical complexities of the Casino services, strict regulatory requirements and security protocols meant that this project presented a huge challenge to the delivery team.
