			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The construction of the new 9,500m2 Science and Technology Building within the AUT campus was achieved utilising a design and build process.</p>
<p>The six level building is constructed with a concrete frame and a structural steelwork frame to the roof, together with precast concrete floors. The external walls are profiled powder coated steel panels, with shopfront glazing at street level.</p>
<p>It contains specialist facilities including a 70m long open plan laboratory to allow a number of simultaneous classes, as well as lecture theatres and a full level of parking.</p>
<p>The FF&amp;E management involved the relocation of the staff (over 200 lecturers, technicians and administrators) into the new accommodation. In addition, management and administration of the procurement of all new equipment and fixtures within the established budget.</p>

<p>The seven level building is constructed with a concrete frame and a structural steelwork frame to the roof, together with precast concrete floors. The external walls are concrete and profiled steel panels, with shopfront glazing at street level.</p>
<p>It contains specialist facilities including a 700m2 workshop and extensive Studio and Gallery spaces. It also included the full two floor fit out of the fashion workshops including the relocation of all sewing and knitting equipment.</p>
<p>The FF&amp;E management involved the relocation of staff (over 50 lecturers, technicians and administrators) into the new accommodation. In addition, management and administration of the procurement of all new equipment and fixtures within the established budget.</p>
<p>This building was completed within the project budget and was occupied by the time required by the Academic calendar.</p>

<p>The building is constructed with a concrete frame and precast concrete floor . The external walls are a combination of precast concrete panels, aluminum sandwich panels and curtain walling.</p>
<p>As Client Representative, the project was overseen to provide overall co-ordination of a complex project and its inhabitants equipment and possessions.</p>
<p>RCP co-ordinated, planned and managed the FF&amp;E process which included the lecture areas such as catering kitchens, hotel bedrooms, together with the staff’s furniture, equipment, books etc</p>

<p>The Learning Centre was designed to become the hub of the AUT campus and as such underwent an extensive briefing process.</p>
<p>RCP undertook the project management of the construction as well as the FF&amp;E procurement.</p>
