Redevelopment of the former NZ Post processing building in central Christchurch into Christchurch City Council’s new 23,000m2 offices and civic chambers. The building has achieved New Zealand’s highest 6 Star Green Building design rating with tri-generation mechanical plant and a double-skin ventilated façade, which is targeted to translate to a 6 Star As-Built rating as well. It utilises the existing building structure with the sculptural addition of the new civic chambers and will accommodate 1,200 staff upon opening. The building is being delivered as an integrated fitout, capturing the Council’s hard fitout requirements within the design process.
In addition, RCP is delivering the Council’s soft fitout package, including FF&E and detailed migration planning. The fitout is also targeting a 6 Star Green Building design rating.
