The stadium is designed to accommodate 50,000 spectators in legacy mode, with 60,000 for Rugby World Cup 2011. Included within these are corporate boxes, members lounges, substantial catering facilities, carparking and coach parking.

This project is focussed on minimising effects to neighbours with features such as new sports lights with low glare, improved PA systems, an acoustic screen to the East Stand, significantly improved internal pedestrian movements, better gate entrances and an improved transport plan to more efficiently integrate with public transport (linked to external ARTA initiatives).
This $240.5M project is due to be completed in late 2010, to enable sufficient lead in time for operational testing prior to the Rugby World Cup in September 2011
