S ky City Auckland’s new Convention Centre opened for business on programme in early April 2004.
The Convention Centre facility boasts a 1300m² column free ballroom which can banquet 1200 people or accommodate 1500 delegates’ theatre style. The floor below included a 1050m²Exhibition space specifically fitted out for exhibitions but also capable of banqueting 900 or seating 1320 for conference or cocktails.
In addition to the two main rooms there are two 750m² foyers, 12 breakout rooms (totaling 1020m²), two kitchens, two air bridges connecting the Convention Centre to Sky City Casino, 90 carparks plus 500m² of retail space.
The 3 level centre opens onto both Federal and Albert Streets in central Auckland, sharing a foyer on the 3rd level with the new 330 room, 15 storey Sky City Grand Five Star Hotel located over the Convention Centre.
