R eaching a height of 328m the Sky Tower is New Zealand’s tallest structure. Opened in 1997 the Sky Tower is now a distinctive landmark within the Auckland CBD. The structure has 63 floor levels with public access level 50 (lower observation), level 51 (main observation), level 52 (restaurant), level 53 (outdoor observation) and level 60 (sky deck).

The Tower contains a revolving restaurant (1 complete rotation every hour) with seating for 240 persons. Above all this is the 90 metre communication mast, catering for state-of-the-art telecommunications.

The Tower is a hollow reinforced concrete shaft supported on a foundation pad. Floors are structural steel and concrete slab. The façade is exposed concrete and aluminium and glass panels. The observation and restaurant levels are serviced by three public lifts, each taking 45 seconds to travel from level 1 (entry) to level 53) outdoor observation.
