RCP, New Zealand’s leading independent project management company, is delighted to announce the appointment of Ben Gurton to Director. Gurton is RCP’s Wellington Regional Manager and his promotion marks RCP’s first resident Director for the region.
Gurton brings more than 15 years’ experience delivering complex strategies and projects for clients and developing strong industry relationships based on trust and results. He joined RCP from the UK in 2006, working first in Auckland followed by a stint in Christchurch before answering the Wellington team’s call for support in 2013.
The company sets the bar high for prospective directors, who need to have the hard-earned respect of their peers and the wider industry.
RCP Managing Director Jeremy Hay says it’s a well-deserved promotion. “Ben quickly grew his Wellington network and is extremely well regarded amongst the local consultant, contractor, and client community.”
Wellington is an important market for RCP and its strong growth in recent years means its timely to appoint a Director to the region.
“Since taking on the Regional Manager role just four years ago, Ben has increased the size of the Wellington office by 50 percent and built a fantastic team. He lives and breathes the RCP brand and is totally invested in the business. Ben gets into the trenches and leads by example,” says Hay.
“It’s an honour to be appointed a Director of RCP,” says Gurton. “I thrive on challenges and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow the business and the team in Wellington, and to delivering more outstanding outcomes for our clients.”
Gurton and the Wellington team are currently delivering a number of significant projects in the region, and Gurton has successfully delivered many major projects nationwide including Q Theatre in Auckland, the Long-Term Transport Plan in Christchurch and Bowen Campus in Wellington
Gurton attributes his success to those around him.
“It’s a cliché but you’re a product of your surroundings. I’ve been fortunate to work with and learn from lots of good people, clients, consultants, contractors, and my RCP colleagues. I’m the operator I am today as a result,” says Gurton.
