Leonard Isitt Drive

The Leonard Isitt Drive re-alignment was a complex infrastructure project that involved straightening the street and enhancing the streetscape to establish an internal street grid pattern.

This development aimed to enable future feasible growth of 'The Quad' while ensuring smooth traffic flow. The re-alignment project has transformed the area into the central street of the precinct, now hosting several exciting new developments. The realigned road prioritises pedestrian experience, featuring high-quality finishes such as cobbled pavements, attractive street furniture, and New Zealand urban art. These elements have set a benchmark for future infrastructure and building projects within the precinct.

RCP was entrusted with the oversight of the road realignment project on behalf of Auckland International Airport Limited (AIAL). In addition, RCP acted as the representative for AIAL in managing the construction of the Quad Precinct's new buildings, which include Quad 5, Quad 7, an office development, Travel Careers and Training, an airport staff training facility, and the Ibis Hotel.

Situated at the heart of the Auckland Airport Business District, Leonard Isitt Drive is a vital component of The Quad precinct. The Quad primarily caters to office activities, hotel accommodations, and retail amenities, serving passengers and airport workers. The long-term vision for The Quad is to provide businesses with a high-quality environment that enhances the experience for both staff and clients.
