Te Kaitaka – The Cloak at Auckland International Airport

Auckland International Airport required a flexible space for hosting events and meetings while introducing the strategy and opportunities behind the developing Airport precinct. In addition to these functional requirements, the brief was aspirational in that the architecture should demonstrate opportunities for innovative design and sustainable operation.

The Design, Programming, Procurement, Contract Administration and Onsite Delivery was project managed by RCP. By fostering a collaborative team approach, the project was delivered in line with critical milestones and within budget whilst not compromising quality of outcome.

With prominence of the building fronting a pedestrian pavement, public safety was paramount during the project delivery, with special consideration and safety procedures placed on phases of construction close to the public interface. The project was delivered without health and safety incident and in line with Auckland International Airport’s strict health and safety and zero -harm policy
