Haere-Roa – University of Canterbury Student Association Building

The multi-purpose bespoke IL3 USCA facility accommodates a modern and adaptable space, comprising of the 1000-person Ngaio Marsh Performance Theatre, lecture facility, function centre, social and media rooms, club spaces, food and beverage offerings and the UCSA offices. The surrounding building is landscaped and designed purposely with outdoor facilities to accommodate events & functions including external kitchen, staging area & amphitheatre.

RCP were engaged at the developed design stage and were responsible to provide design, health and safety, programming and risk management, and to develop the staged consent and procurement strategy. This was while also concurrently undertaking the demolition management of the existing building and separate enabling works package, and the following Main Contract contract administration services.

The demolition and construction was delivered amongst a live student campus environment, with a new home now created for the University of Canterbury Students.
